I was expecting a lot from Gus Van Sant’s latest offering, and was baffled as to why I didn’t emerge from the theater wholly satisfied. Milk is a story based on Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected for public office, and featured a well-rounded cast led by Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, James Franco and Emile Hirsch. A Spirited effort
I remember really liking Sin City. I’m already a film noir fan, and coupled with the star power that rounded up the cast list [Bruce Willis, Josh Hartnett, Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, etc], you can understand how I got hooked. I remember enjoying Elijah Wood’s performance as well as Clive Owen’s. I thought the movie was aesthetically pleasing and definitely unique. It was pulp fiction with a twist....
